Elevated on higher ground than any other suburb in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Richmond Hill retains its autonomy and has its own municipal government. The borough has one of the highest per capita family incomes in all of Canada. Real estate is plentiful and there are many types of condominiums available for sale or rent.

The region has lots of green space, parks and rural land. Condos in the area come in all kinds of styles from luxury apartments to opulent townhouses. Sizes can vary depending upon the floor plans one chooses, but come in a vast array of multi-bedroom and multi-storied units. Amenities can be as varied as your tastes, while prices usually range from moderate to expensive.

Its growing population is stimulating economic growth as well as residential, commercial and industrial real estate. Many wealthy immigrants have decided to call Richmond Hill home, especially a large contingent from Hong Kong. Not wanting to be absorbed into communist China when Hong Kong was ceded back to the mainland, many wealthy patrons fled and decided to settle here.

Richmond Hill offers a less hectic lifestyle than busy Toronto. Those seeking a quieter setting will find the area very suitable to their demands for peaceful living. One of the more popular corners is Mill Pond, a large parkland hosting many species of flora and fauna. It is also a popular spot for concerts, carnivals, flower shows, antique fairs etc.

Oak Ridges is hot spot for residential expansion and a point of contention to those opposed to the enlargement of real estate developments. With its many lakes, creeks and forests it is a magnet for ecologically sensitive crusaders and eager construction developers. The area is highly desirable and many lovely dwellings including luxury condos can be found along the shores of Lake Wilcox. Further development has been halted, but continues on in the less sensitive southwestern portion of the region.

There are many shopping plazas and centers to service the community and all kinds of entertainment, restaurants, parks, schools and sports activities as well. From hockey to tennis and just about everything in between is offered. Transportation includes a bus network and the Go Transit train line making it fairly easy to navigate around town and beyond.

Yonge Street is probably the most famous of its roads as it cuts through the center of town. Many homes, churches and small businesses line its pathway at this part of its junction. Whereas in downtown Toronto you will find many office and condo towers along its corridor.

Access to major freeways like Highway 401 is uncomplicated. Commuting by car to and from Toronto or other towns and villages is not a problem. A pleasant populace, abundance of greenery and fine selection of condos make Richmond Hill a very desirable locale for anyone contemplating moving to the area. So whether you are a growing family, a single young professional or someone looking to retire, you’ll find a residence suitable to your needs.
